Been quite busy lately, but not working, was having this Tour-Guide training course which to me, was interesting as it gives a BOOST in our communicating skills, and make our tours more interesting. Our course is known as ' HOT2' cuz we are HOT!
Just kidding, we were divided into HOT1 & HOT2. "HANDS ON TRAINING", and the class was held in Kiulap Plaza Hotel, level 5. Monday - Thursday from 8am to approx. 345pm - 445pm in the afternoon and it goes on for two weeks.
We were basically trained by trainers from WFTGA, World Federation Tourist Guide Association and our trainers come from the UK. I never knew that there was such an association existing but it was quite fun & exciting when i came across knowing how their association works and so on.
I was somewhat motivated by Iris & Mary who were doing just GREAT JOBS and they were VERY VERY careful and attentive to each and everyone one of us. I was in HOT2 whilst my brother and the others were in HOT2, being NOT very sociable, i was scared at first when i reached KPH, and was nervous during our first introduction, (had to introduce ourselves, relevant working experiences & blah)
but in the afternoon, we were getting quite okay and i started to speak to my team that we were assigned to, (we had four teams of which each consists of 4-5 team members). My team members were from : Mona Flora Fauna (eco guide, a very good one infact (informative!!)), Freme & Bon Asia.
We had to work together to make things work, cuz we were doing presentations straight from the first day onwards and everyday around 2 FORMAL ones(SOLO) and 2 in group discussions.
It really helps and i've learnt alot so far. :)
Next week we'll be doing the PRACTICAL exercises! taking walks around town & visiting places of interest.
I'll update more. For the first week, we've been good, and i hope for the second week, BETTER!
Thanks to Brunei Tourism for organizing such a course, it certainly helps ALOT! a way lot more!
P/s: the course was on first come first serve basis, and we were only picked ONE out of each agency, but for HOT2, there were exceptance, GREAT COURSE! i love being called "HOT2 students". The trainers never made us feel left out!
